Obituary of Virginia Bonney DeMoulin

Obituary Virginia Bonney DeMoulin, age 86, died of natural causes on December 3, 2021 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She was born on February 2, 1935, the daughter of Harold Cass and Mabel (Manhart) Bonney. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William Prospere DeMoulin; her brother Roger David Bonney; and her sister June Bonney Kitchen Dabney. Ginger was loved by her children William DeMoulin (Laura); Dana DeMoulin (Becky Porter); Thomas DeMoulin (Lisa Appleton); and David DeMoulin. She will also be missed by grandchildren Nicholas DeMoulin, Margeaux Christopherson (Xan), Virginia Durakovich (Ian Taylor) and Audrey DeMoulin; great-grandchildren Layla and Harrison DeMoulin and Madison, Finley, William and Rosalyn Christopherson; extended family Dennis Durakovich, Patty Love and Ali Wettleson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ginger grew up in Denver, Colorado and was an alumna of East High School. She studied art at the University of Colorado and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. She and Bill married in 1955 in Panama, where Bill was stationed in the Army. The couple moved back to Boulder into a Quonset hut in �Vetsville� (married student housing) and began their family while Bill pursued a law degree at the University of Colorado. Raising their young and growing family in Lakewood, they attended St. John�s Episcopal Cathedral in Denver where Ginger volunteered with the annual church bazaar. After losing her father to heart disease, she began volunteering with the Colorado Classic Horse Show benefitting the American Heart Association. Bill was always the first to point out that his achievements as a lawyer and a District Court judge were due to Ginger�s steadfast support. She created a home that was full of love, beauty, humor, respect and predictability, a home which enabled her children to be successful in their careers and in their own families. Ginger traveled extensively with Bill in their retirement. Although she particularly enjoyed the museums and countryside of Europe, she was happy to stay home after his death, stating that she had crossed the Atlantic Ocean 22 times, and that was enough. When Bill died in 2009, Ginger chose to memorialize him privately. Therefore, the DeMoulin children will plan a memorial to celebrate both of their lives at a later date.
