Obituary of Mildred Ann Haney
Mildred Ann (Oakey) Haney (Mib/Millie), passed away at her home in Longmont, Colorado on October 29, 2023 at 12:30pm.
Mildred was born on March 20, 1936 to Roy and Nina Oakey, in Niagara Falls, New York as the 5th of 8 children. She married John Haney (Jack) on July 3, 1954 and together they raised their 6 children in New York and Colorado.
Millie spent her life serving the children of her church and community. She was a Sunday School teacher, a school lunch lady, and school crossing guard. Millie had a talent for quilting and a passion for making them for her family and friends. She belonged to a quiltie ladies group where she loved making quilts for charity. Millie always had a heart for other people, volunteering at Longmont United Hospital for a number of years, and visiting with people in nursing homes. Millie found great enjoyment as a member of the Red Hat Society and she loved to ride motorcycles, whether on the back of her husband’s Harley or riding her own! She always had an amazing smile and shared it with everyone.
