Dana Dyer Obituary

Dana Cecile Dyer passed away on July 31st of 2023 after fighting breast cancer for many years. She was always optimistic about being determined to win the battle. Dana had won her first battle against cancer about 20 years ago before it came back. Towards her final days she was accepting of her fate and was brave when facing death. She was surrounded by her children and her dogs.

Dana was born to Phillip Dan Dyer and Jo Ellen Dyer in Kansas. She is survived by her two children, Cassandra Bridwell and Jared Bridwell, as well as her sister Kelly Alexander. Dana grew up in Topeka, KS and attended Kansas University. She studied abroad in France where she loved the culture, the language, and the people. She returned to France many times and visited quite a few neighboring countries. Her love for travel was not limited to Europe. In recent years she volunteered her time in Peru to help rehabilitate animals and preserve the rainforest. Peru was where her soul thrived and she always longed to go back again and again.

Dana lived out her dream of moving to the Rocky Mountains. She spent her last few years amongst nature at her little cabin in Nederland CO where she regularly saw moose, deer, coyotes, and many other animals. Dana requested to not have any services but anyone may donate to Emerald Arch on her behalf. This nonprofit organization was very close to her heart from the moment it was created due to their efforts to protect the rainforest and the animals within. The cofounders, Harry Turner and Lexi Grey, were like family to her as they share the same passion for animals and rainforest. Please visit emeraldarch.org to donate.
